Australia

The end of summer here – almost, a great selection of fresh indie sounds to celebrate the greatsummer I had, with a lot of beer, surf, friends and special girl – to diary. This mix includes fresh names like Abanico, Blood Orange and specially these aussie lads, New Navy with a very particular song; “Tapioca Uluwatu”. We also have Bears, Justice, Alex Winston as fresh new sounds. Not less important or fresh, Pretty Lights with a I N S A N E song, called; “We Must Go On”  if you ever heard more than ten songs of Wiz Khalifa you will definitely recognize the prime sound, from the track “When u Find” also Thieves Like Us with a very catchy song to be honest. Now I’ll just let you lads enjoy the set, stay safe and don’t get too excited on the set picture.

Phoenix is one of my favorite bands, all the songs are incredible awesome, there’s any song that I don’t like. I started listening the classic, Lisztomania, after that, 1901 and then I decided to download all the cds of the band and I didn’t surprise me.. I just thought, AWESOME, more quality for me.

Just letting you guys know what I’ve been listening: the whole concert of John Butler at Federation Square, here in Melbourne. I hadn’t listened the rest of the songs of this concert, what a insanity folks, pure style and quality. John Butler for sure is the best.

Talking about the songs, specially “Rome” they always produce lyrics with some real mean, the band isn’t american, it’s from France but they have a fluent english, we can’t see any french accent. We can consider Phoenix in the same stage and style of Passion Pit, I’m not sure it all but they have almost the same rythym with some songs, I was used to listen a lot of Passion Pit but “The Reeling” after 3, 4 times.. uhm.. deleted.

Another great singer from Australia.. in my point of view a surf music singer but, people say he’s a blues ‘n roots singer. Xavier has great songs like “Mother”, “Messages” and I’m pretty sure that he’s a surf music singer. Xavier is a songwriter too. Next shows, mahalo.

Take a look in these people;

Chris HawkesEelco, Julie Collings and Robin Tymn. The pure acoustic style, believe me when I say the pure. New bands comming, wait for it. Enjoying a beauty saturday here in Sydney… back to Melbourne in two days, I can’t wait.

I spent like 3 years listening this trio but sunday I found a insane song, called; “ocean”, what a rythym, it’s something really crazy mate, i can’t explain what happened with me when i watched this video, it’s really awesome.. also the band has great songs like; “peaches and cream”, “zebra”, “used to get high”, “better man” but “ocean” is my favorite, they’re really great, specially in live shows, people from down under check this out; the band will play friday night in Paul Kelly’s tribute, more informations:
